About us
Zurbagun Robotics is a robotics venture studio in the UAE. We buy off-the-shelf robots and write software that lets them do new jobs.
Our goal is robots you give tasks to in plain words, not with a joystick. You say what you want done, and an AI agent works out how. The first applications are a game park with robot dogs and daily walk-throughs of construction sites.
The agent already controls our Unitree Go2 Pro. Now the dog needs a map, navigation and its own onboard computer.
Your first task (trial, 2–3 weeks)
- The dog builds a map of the space with its lidar, knows where it is, and moves around using the map without bumping into things. Use Nav2 or whatever you're used to.
- Simple skills the agent can call: go to an object, follow a route, return to base, follow a person. The agent decides what to do, and the skill does it on its own, without calling the language model at every step.
- A computer on the dog itself (a Jetson in a backpack): power and mounting. Everything that now runs on the laptop moves there.
- At the end you ask the dog to find something, and it walks to it using the map. We show it live.
What's next
After the trial we'll invite you to join full-time. If you'd rather stay on contract, that works too.
Next up:
- Construction sites. The dog walks the same route around a site every day with a lidar and a 360 camera. From that data we check whether what's been built matches the design (the BIM model) and inspect apartments before handover.
- A second dog, several robots at once, working outdoors and in the heat.
- Other robots on the same software. You can launch your own startup inside the studio, and we'll help.
Requirements
- 2+ years working with mobile robots (dogs, humanoids, wheeled platforms) or embedded systems. You've controlled a robot from code.
- Python, ROS 2, mapping and navigation: Nav2, Cartographer, RTAB-Map or similar.
- Linux and embedded computers: Jetson or similar.
