What we do
Zurbagun Robotics is a robotics venture studio in the UAE. We take off-the-shelf robots and teach them new jobs with our own software. The ideas that survive validation become standalone companies.
We have more ideas than hands: inspection rounds at industrial sites and substations, BIM-based layout marking on construction sites, facade cleaning, welding and CNC cells, robot entertainment parks, cleaning-as-a-service. Each one has to be checked before we put money and engineering time into it. That's the analyst's job.
How we work
Every project moves through stages: idea, deep dive, concept, MVP, company. A deep dive takes 2–4 weeks and ends with a short memo: is there a market, who already does something similar (Chinese manufacturers included), do the economics work, and what we recommend: go, kill, or pause. Writing these memos will be your core job.
What you'll do
- Size markets bottom-up: how many sites, what the work costs today, who pays for it.
- Find competitors and reference cases worldwide; break down their pricing, business models and failures.
- Build unit economics for Robot-as-a-Service: price per robot-hour, fleet utilization, payback in different countries.
- Compare robots with people: wages, taxes, visas and housing in the UAE, Europe and other markets.
- Talk to experts and potential customers, and tell polite interest from a real letter of intent.
- Put a source next to every number and say plainly what we don't know yet.
- Help us sharpen the method: the memo template, the payback model, the rules for killing projects.
The work changes all the time. A payback sheet today, a review of Chinese competitors tomorrow, a call with a warehouse owner the day after. If you like one task per quarter, you'll be bored here.
Who we're looking for
- 3+ years at a VC fund, startup studio, accelerator, consultancy or corporate venture arm. You've evaluated startups in international markets, not just one country.
- You build financial models in Google Sheets or Excel and can defend every assumption.
- You write short and clear: the recommendation first, the reasoning below.
- Native or fluent Russian — the team works in Russian. English good enough for industry reports and calls with international experts.
